RMU Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in the Orlando International Airport Retail Merchandising Unit (RMU) Program!

The RMU Program is designed to showcase and extend retail opportunities for local small businesses and artisans that will highlight the vibrancy of Orlando’s economy and culture and whose art or merchandise represent the unique diversity, vitality, quality of life and natural environment of Central Florida and the State.

The program consists of twelve (12) RMUs located post-security in the airside terminals. The leasing structure for these opportunities is based on the greater of a Minimum Annual Concession Fee (MACF) or a percentage of sales. The current fee structure for local small business retailers is the greater of a MACF of $30,000 or 15% of sales. The current fee structure for artists, which is defined as “one who makes things by hand”, is the greater of a MACF of $24,000 or 12% of sales. RMU operators are expected to be open for business from 7:00am – 9:00pm, 365 days per year. If awarded, RMU operators will be required to provide a Certificate of General Liability Insurance in the amount of $5,000,000 and also provide a security deposit equal to two month’s rent.

If you are a local small business or artist and would like to be considered as an operator for an RMU, please tell us about yourself and your concept by completing the “Expression of Interest” form below.

Should you be chosen as a candidate to operate a RMU, an Aviation Authority representative will contact you.

In addition to the above, lobbyists are now required to sign-in at the Aviation Authority offices prior to any meetings with Staff or Board members. In the event a lobbyist meets with or otherwise communicates with Staff or a Board member at a location other than the Aviation Authority offices, the lobbyist shall file a Notice of Lobbying (Form 4) detailing each instance of lobbying to the Aviation Authority within 7 calendar days of such lobbying.
